Description

SPANISH COLONIAL BED OF THE BABY JESUS. Comprising a carved and polychrome figure of Niño Jesús, probably Peru, 18th or early 19th century. The carved wood and polychrome figure of the infant Jesus dressed in ornate clothing, the head with human hair and set with glass eyes. His feet with silver sandals and next to him a pair of silver shoes. His head encircled with an ornate silver repousse and chased halo and resting in a cast silver bed with filigree decorated headboard and footboard and with suspension bar displaying various silver charms. Length of bed 14 inches, Height 11.5 inches. Together with a custom-made plexiglass display cover.
