APOLLO 15: Flown Flag Carried to the Lunar Surface by Dave Scott Presented to his Wife Anne Lurton Scott in a Framed Presentation (July 26- Aug 7 1972) Dave Scott (born 1932 90 years of age) flown American flag carried to the lunar surface during the Apollo 15 Mission. Commander David Scott and Lunar Module Pilot James Irwin landed near Hadley Rille and explored the local area using the lunar rover. Command Module Pilot Alfred Worden orbited the Moon, operating the sensors in the scientific instrument module (SIM) bay of the service module.

Dave Scott gifted this flown silk flag (4 x 6") with the following letter of authenticity on David R. Scott letterhead that is in the presentation: "To Anne Lurton Scott August 2, 1972, Dear Lurton: This is to certify that the attached United States flag was purchased by me prior to the flight of Apollo 15 and was carried onboard Apollo 15 in my Personal Preference Kit (PPK). This flag is from my personal collection and is genuine in all respects. David R. Scott, Commander Apollo 15" There is a second COA Scott prepared for Lurton Scott signed and dated April 2002 reiterating the first.

Letter and flag have been professionally matted and framed in museum-grade plexi with (unflown) mission patches and picture of Scott and family included. Also an LOA included from Heritage Auctions for the flag as well as the documentation by Scott previously sold in 2013.

An excellent piece of history from America's Space Program worthy of any collection or museum and in superior, choice condition. Estimated Value $7,000 - 12,000
