Title: Huge Historic Vinoy Hotel Lobby Murano Art Glass Chandelier Aprx 6 Ft Plus

Description: Huge Historic Vinoy Hotel Lobby Murano Art Glass Chandelier Aprx 6 Ft Plus.One of 11 lots of hand-blown Italian art glass lighting fixtures from the Vinoy Renaissance Resort pre-War grand lobby, the prominent downtown St. Petersburg hotel designated by the National Trust For Historic Preservation as one of the Historic Hotels of America. This lot is a single chandelier with twelve electric bulb lights each light projecting from a central decorative column surmounted by organic festoons and additional blown glass ornamentation. Because the Vinoy staff removed the fixture from the ceiling and wrapped its parts the overall measurements were not taken so it is important to understand the an estimate of approximately 4 feet high by approximately 6 feet in diameter however since as each arm is 30 inches high which at a combined five foot together with the center structure tends to confirm the overall approximate six foot diameter. The Vinoy has been a long-time supporter of Tampa Bay projects and is currently undergoing a spectacular renovation the lobby design that included these lighting fixtures were in place until 2022 as part of a tribute to international glass artist Dale Chihuly who has a studio museum in downtown St. Petersburg. This chandelier illuminated the Chihuly sculpture installation in the center of the Vinoy lobby. The manufacturer of these chandeliers has not yet been identified and the installation date we surmise as the turn of the 20th-21st century. Please see additional sconce lots and two more magnificent single chandelier lots elsewhere in this auction. These will not be available for pickup until AFTER December the 8th. Please read the entire auction!

Additional important note This lot as well as the other two chandelier lots are packaged and in storage at The Vinoy Hotel to be picked up by special appointment via our staff. The chandelier was removed from the lobby and carefully individually wrapped by Vinoy staff and put into storage, our staff will be picking up the wrapped component pieces immediately after the auction at the Vinoy secure storage closed to the public during construction and transporting them to our office for buyer pickup beginning Thursday December 8th. Overall condition is excellent as discovered untouched architectural de-installed. Note that the first image in our listing is an in situ photograph of one of the chandeliers taken at the Vinoy. Based on our examination of the sconces of related construction elsewhere in this sale the buyer should expect epoxy residue on the metal seats of the set in arms and organic drapes and the expected wall paint spatter and overspray to the components. Hanging and mounting hardware above the glass may or may not be included with this lot. Since these are hardwire lamps the wiring has not been tested for working order and should be installed by a licensed electrician. It was not feasible to photograph the component parts of each chandelier and no individual lot condition reports are available. (MORE IMPORTANT INFO) Because you are viewing a sample lot and because the items were packed and placed into storage at The Vinoy before our staff had the ability to document individual lot condition. The customer or their representative has the right to unwrap each component part during their pickup by appointment only and verify their satisfaction the condition of their paid lot by personally unwrapping item component pieces. There is no lot preview access or inspection access prior to payment.
