A black and white photograph from Erik Charell's "Congress Dances", featuring actors Conrad Veidt and Lil Dagover dressed in period costumes. Measuring 11" x 8.5", Germany, circa 1932. With a "UFA" logo at the lower left corner, beneath which has been written "12V." Pencil and ink writing on verso. The photograph has been stamped "Fotorama Filbureau København." A few small pink holes at the corners. Silvering at the edges. Light scratching throughout. Overall, very good.
The German comedy film "Congress Dances" was released in 1932, directed by Erik Charell and starring Lilian Harvey, Conrad Veidt, Lil Dagover, and Henri Garat. The film was an English-language version of the German film "Der Kongreß tanzt", and centers on the Congress of Vienna, where an Austrian commoner is mistaken for the Tsar of Russia.
