A group of 9 Asian ceramic or pottery pieces. Including a Republic Period Chinese charger, a rosewood stand, a shallow blue and white planter, a sancai glazed figure, a Tang style horse, a blue and white vase with flaring rim, an imari dish, a snuff bottle, and a cloisonne opium pipe. Largest is vase, ht. 11.5".
From the estate and lifelong collection of William Garrett Hodges (1946-2014). Hodges was a Virginia-based dealer of fine arts, with specialization in prints and rare books, having collected for decades. He supplied and consulted various groups on antiquities throughout his career, including the White House, the Vice President's residence, the FBI, and multiple film and television series.
Condition
Repaired cracks to tall vase, broken tail to horse, crack to sancai glazed figure, other wear.
