Thomas Coleman Younger was an American Confederate guerrilla during the American Civil War and later an outlaw leader with the James–Younger Gang. He was the elder brother of Jim, John and Bob Younger, who were also members of the gang. This lot features original handcuffs used on Cole younger after the Northfield First National Bank robbery in Minnesota. Jessie and Frank escaped capture but Cole, Jim, and Bob younger were sent to Stillwater State Prison in Minnesota. Accompanying the cuffs is a leather-bound prisoner daily report log with the names and activities of the three brothers. Additionally, there is a personal card and envelope owned by Cole Younger. After Jesse James' death, Cole was put in charge of managing visitors to James' grave. The cards were used to admit a visitor to the grave site. Lastly, included here is a picture of the James-Younger gang, as well as a copy of "The Last Ride of The James-Younger Gang" edition of the RAID Magazine. MAKER: Various. APPROX AGE: Antique.
