汉 “ 长生无极 ” 瓦当
瓦当为筒瓦之头,是中国古代建筑构件中的一种。因其有遮蔽檐头、阻止瓦片下滑的作用,所以称当。它兼具实用功能与装饰作用。古人以各种动物、植物纹样,图案、文字等装饰当面。汉宫旧砖瓦,采用澄泥制法,当面四分阳文篆书“ 长生无极”四字,字体近隶书 。 笔画纤细,笔法苍劲,当底面可以磨成砚, 为文房 雅玩。瓦当有驱邪除恶, 镇宅吉祥的含义,且其造型考究,文字及图形也优美。

The front of the tile is molded with a four character inscription "Wan Shou Wu Jiang" in miuzhuan seal script, meaning Longevity. The underside can be grind into an inkstone as the tile is made of Chengni.
