Description
American, late 18th century. A fine corner chair with vasiform splats, tapered column supports, and square marlborough legs in hard wood, most likely walnut.
Overall good condition. Knicks throughout wood and wear on arms. Seat has been reupholstered.
From the estate and lifelong collection of William Garrett Hodges (1946-2014). Hodges was a Virginia-based dealer of fine arts, with specialization in prints and rare books, having collected for decades. He supplied and consulted various groups on antiquities throughout his career, including the White House, the Vice President's residence, the FBI, and multiple film and television series.
