Japanese Small Lacquered Wood and Parquetry Tansu, Meiji Period. Of rectangular form, with two hinged doors with maki-e lacquer scenes of Mt. Fuji and a Phoenix in a tree, opening to reveal an arrangement of six short drawers over a single long drawer. Size: 9.25'' x 5'' x 5'' (23 x 13 x 13 cm). Provenance: Sylvia and Philip Chaplain Collection, New Hampshire.
