Set of Six Austrian Biedermeier Walnut Side Chairs with Lyre-Form Backs and Maple Stringing Inlay, Vienna

38 1/2 x 18 1/2 x 19 in., height of seat 19 1/2 in.

Note: One chair from this set is illustrated in Angus Wilkie, Biedermeier, 1987, pg. 207, fig. 197.

Condition

In good overall condition with minor scuffing and wear with string banding lifting and losses. Slight seam separations on a few seat rails, some seats with new blocks underneath. Very few veneer replacements, predominately on the legs. Nicely upholstered with minor wear, two chairs with staining and tears. Structurally sound. Chic model.
