Later vellum in the style of the time with spine label (somewhat spotted). - According to Moreau the date of 1524 is confirmed by the printing state of the publisher's mark of Jean Petit. - Rolewinck's work was one of the most widely read historical works of the later Middle Ages. It lists the most important events in world history and records both historical facts and miraculous events. The woodcut illustrations show, among other things, Noah's Ark or the Tower of Babel. Some of the city views are topographically correct, others imaginary. - Endpapers renewed. Partly with underlining and marginalia. Throughout somewhat waterstained and partly lightly spotted. With partly backed missing parts in the margins, first pages more heavily affected.

Moreau III, 743. - BP16, 103605. - Laut Moreau ist das Datum von 1524 durch den Druckzustand der Verlegermarke von Jean Petit bestätigt. (Vgl. Haebler VIII. - Renouard, 887). - Rolewincks Werk war eine der meistgelesenen Geschichtswerke des späteren Mittelalters. Es listet die wichtigsten Ereignisse der Weltgeschichte auf und zeichnet sowohl historische Tatsachen als auch wundersame Ereignisse auf. Die Holzschnittillustrationen zeigen u.a. die Arche Noah oder den Turmbau zu Babel. Einige der Stadtansichten sind topographisch korrekt, andere imaginär. - Vorsätze erneuert. Teils mit Unterstreichungen und Marginalien. Durchgehend etwas wasserrandig und teils leicht fleckig. Mit teils hinterlegten Fehlstellen im Blattrand, erste Bll. stärker betroffen.
