Pair of Chinese Qing Dynasty KangXi Wucai Porcelain Square Rouleau Bottle Vases. The porcelain potted in shape vases, large thick and tall, square mid body, flaring mouth rim, raised on a square foot base with slight concave. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean black and wucai design color, depicted of the army of war returned with great joy celebrating victorious. The colors are harmonious, elegant and exquisite, the composition is sophisticated, simply a feast for the eye. Wucai refers to Chinese porcelain items decorated in this style. This possibly suggest that the important thing is the name WuCai, or Wucai ware, where the number five has an important symbolic significance in Chinese art. The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark. Made in The Years of KangXi Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
