Potted in tea pot shape, globular body with curve spout flanked on the mid belly outward at the short mouth rim, a looped handles giving a balance on the opposite sides, flanked on the shoulder to lower belly, raised with high splayed foot base. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in yellow base color which contrast against famille rose design\ color, depicted of lotus flowers blooms interspersed foliage and scrolling interlocking tendril. Lotus is one of the most significant flowers in the Chinese culture. It symbolizes the holy seat of Buddha. Because the flower rises from the mud and blooms in exquisite beauty it symbolizes perfection and purity of both the heart and mind. It also represents long life and honor. The lotus flower is depicted in Chinese art, poetry and architecture.The Under base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed red script characters reign mark. Made in The Years Jiaqing Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
