Aside from the list of over 11,000 members, which includes their line of descent, from which is derived their eligibility, the contents includes a history of the National Society, biographies of officers, principal events of the Revolution, and a medal list of the Spanish - American War.
Hard boards; blue cloth, white labels with gold lettering on spine [cloth sporadic wear: see photos]; 6.3/4" x 10.1/2"; 2.7/8" thick; "G.F. Edwards, Portsmouth, Va" is pencil written inside front cover and introduction page; the front endpaper is slightly creased at the hinges, color frontispiece with tissue guard plus one other color plate and profusely illustrated with b/w photographs, primarily portraits of members; 1035 pages.; a few pages are stained, very good condition.
Provenance:
From the library of Griffin Fauntleroy Edwards (1843-1905), was the son of LeRoy Griffin Edwards (1804-1866), president of the Virginia State Convention of 1864.
