Henry Hudson Kitson, American, 1863-1947. A turn of the century patinated Bronze wall plaque, titled "Night". Depicts a young maiden seated on a crescent moon in the night sky with a line from the poem "The Passion" by John Milton, reading "Befriend me night best patroness of grief, over the pole thy thickest mantle throw". Signed in the cast "Henry Hudson Kitson" with "MDCCLXXXV" (1785). Minor surface wear. 17" diameter. ESTIMATE $1,500-2,500
