Created in the 1980s Memphis Style ceramic sculpture by Northern Californian artist Neil Williams (1959- ), the sculpture is a vessel that has been deconstructed into a abstract form with multiple colors of glazes and patterns on the piece creating complex patterns, colors and form. Williams was born in the Gold Country of Northern California studied at California College of Arts and Crafts, now called California College of the Arts in the 1970s and was the assistant to artist Viola Frey before striking on his own and currently lives and creates in Auburn, California. His work is in the collection of the de Young Museum in San Francisco and in the archives of the Smithsonian. Dimensions: Height: 15 in (38.1 cm) Width: 9.5 in (24.13 cm) Depth: 12 in (30.48 cm)
