COLLECTION OF HISTORIC ST. LOUIS ITEMS
1904 World's Fair items include a 1903 "DEDICATION" medal showing the Liberal Arts Palace with dates of the fair; a bronze medal by Daniel DuPuis for the Louisiana Purchase with bust of the Goddess Ceres to the front; a medallion dollar "Presented by Missouri Commission - Empire State of Louisiana Purchase" showing the Missouri emblem with two bears and the Missouri Building to the obverse; a three-part gilt metal fob showing a fleur-de-lis over Palace of Arts over Palace of Mines; a small tray showing United States Government Building; as well as four spoons; two abalone spoons in the forms of Native American busts; a miniature Nouveau style handheld vanity mirror; a metal cup by the National Novelty Co. embossed with several of the buildings at the fair; porcelain boots; and a green "Heinz" pickle.
Together with several books including: "The Universal Exposition - A Portfolio of Official Photographic Views of the Louisiana Purchase Exposition, St. Louis, 1904", Portfolio Publishing Company, St. Louis, Missouri, embossed black cloth; World's Fair Souvenir Book filled with illustrations of the fair published by The Regensteiner Corporation of Chicago; "The World Came to St. Louis", by Dorothy Daniels Birk, 19789; "Thirty-Two Picture Postcards of Old St. Louis", still bound and "Ready to Mail" with perforations, 1979; "Misselhorn's Pencil Sketches of St. Louis", 1973, hand signed by Harry Hagen and Roscoe Misselhorn; and another Harry Hagen booklet/calendar for January through June of 1972, "Louisiana Purchase Exposition - St. Louis World's Fair 1904" titled to the cover; and a print of the Eads Bridge by Fred Conway.
