Description

Large twin coil electric fire bell / gong. The brass gong is 11 5/8" in diameter and is cast with Blake Bell Co / Hooper & Co on the inside. The cast iron mechanism has some lettering cast into the back but it is not legible due to pitting from age. The electric contact is stamped U.E.A. Co. Boston Mass which leads us to believe this is from the United Electric Apparatus Company. Based on Blake Bell dates of operation, this piece likely dates to pre 1900.
