Description
A collection of 18th century Scottish silver spoons, in Trefid style, three with engraved crest and motto to terminal. All hallmarked Edinburgh, six dated 1764 (probably), with maker's mark WD, two dated 1744 with maker's mark possibly EO, a further spoon dated 1747 with maker's mark for William Aytoun, and the final example hallmarked Lothian & Robertson, 1751; these four also struck with assay master's mark HG for Hugh Gordon. Approximate length of each 8" (20cm), total weight 18.12 ozt (563.7 grams).(10).
