A Victorian papier mache, lacquer and rosewood sewing box, 19th century, the upright rectangular case painted with bouquets reserved on a gilt decorated ground, the domed top opening to fitted velvet lined fitted interior, the two door front opening to three drawers above a pull-out rosewood writing slope, all on domed feet, include provenance note for "Collection of J.M. Elger, Esq. of Bath", overall 11.25"h x 12"w x 10"d. Provenance: Property of a prominent Pacific Heights, San Francisco estate.
