Description
An issue of Zhar-Ptitsa, a literary and art magazine published by the Russian emigration from 1921 to 1926 in Berlin and Paris. This lot is issue 12 published in January 1923. Circulation is 300 copies. The magazine is richly illustrated in color with the lates artworks of contemporary Russian artists, such as Mikhail Larionov, Natalia Goncharova, Serge Sudeikin. The texts are in German and Russian, typed in pre-reform Russian spelling. Zhar-ptitsa or Firebird is a magical creature from Slavic mythology, the captor of the bird is said to get his wishes fulfilled. Rare Antiquarian Books And Magazines For Collectors.
