Description
This is a set of four wooden kick balls, one of them the winning wooden ball used by team Cusarare in the July 1980 annual kick ball tournament, a game that lasts 24 hours a day for FIVE DAYS! The winning team must continually kick the ball over a 12 mile course, never stopping for 5 days. This match was between pueblo Cusarare and San Ignacio. The largest ball measures 3.5 inches across. Each in its indigenous basket holder. This collection was collected in situ my Paul hendricks in 1980. The collection was part of the permanent display at the Museum of Oddities in Metamora Indiana until 2019 when the museum closed.
