Description
Pair (2) of Louis XV style Belle Epoque gilt bronze sculptural chenets or andirons, each depicting a cupid cherub with feathered lower body working at a Neoclassical style table draped with cloths and tassels. One appears to be smithing more arrows or while the other with wreathed bow in one hand reaches toward a nest of birds. Each table has a flame contained within an Anthenienne upon a plinth base. 14 3/4" H x 16 7/8" W x 6 1/8" D. French, late 19th or early 20th century.

Condition
Both items with minor scattered areas of oxidation. Cherub smithing arrows with loss of fletching portion of one arrow. Cherub crafting bow with loss of arrow to outstretched hand and minor scattered oxidation to table.
