A 'Blowsy Angel' artist birth certificate fraktur for the Jaeger family

Lot consists of two hand painted Pennsylvania Dutch birth frakturs together with with family artifacts including a modern shadowbox with French silver snuff box, reading glasses, pocket knife, monogram brooch and card case as well as a painted tin file box containing approximately two hundred pieces of hand written correspondence pertaining to family and business dating back to the late 18th century. A quick glance through these documents shows the Jaeger (Yaeger) family of Welsh decent, arriving in Berks County, (Reading area) of Pennsylvania in the early 18th century and settling into an iron works business of prominence. The major portion of the correspondence and records span the first two decades of the 19th century.

Framed 18 x 21. With a vertical and a horizontal fold crease down center. Water staining evident to center. Areas of foxing, spotting and color bleeding. Silver reading glasses, brooch and pocket knife not removed from mounts or inspected for marks. Weight listed includes only card case and snuff box. Card case apparently unmarked. Snuff box with maker's mark and Minerva mark. Pieces monogrammed or inscribed. Shadow box 3 x 7 3/4 x 5 3/4in.
