Ca. 200-300 AD. An axe-shaped brooch with an asymmetric blade stretching downwards. This brooch type is typical of central European productions under the Roman Empire, probably reflecting the martial nature of societies on the edge of the Roman world, and closest to the uncivilised lands of the Barbaricum (Barbarian lands).
