Chinese Tang prancing horse with custom case, TL tested period Tang Dynasty, (618 CE-907 CE), naturalistically modeled with the right leg raised, the mouth open, and the head turned slightly to the left, fitted with elaborate trappings having tassels and a saddle draped with patterned cloth, retaining vestiges of black, red, and orange pigments, the whole resting on a custom wooden stand, inside a custom glass display box resting on a wooden pedestal.

Provenance: From the Estate of Carl and Betty Foy Sanders, Atlanta, Georgia. Gifted to Governor Sanders by a Coca Cola executive during a visit to Japan in 1965. The piece comes with original receipts in English and a description with photos in Japanese. Thermoluminescence Authenticity Test preformed in 2022 by Artemis Testing Lab, concluding a proximate age to be 1300 years plus or minus 200 years, making the date of the horse, circa 720 with a possible range of CE 520-920.
