Albert Guillaume (French 1873-1942) French Social Scene, illustration for newspaper, pen and ink, signed lowered left and inscribed in French with caption and dialogue, titled in upper center margin, matted and framed. Born in Paris, France, Guillaume became a leading caricaturist during the Belle Époque. While remembered for his poster art, Guillaume is also known for satirical drawings that were published in Parisian humor magazines such as Gil Blas, Le Rire, L'Assiette au Beurre and Le Figaro illustré.
Dimensions: 8 3/4" x 12 1/8" paper size, 11 3/4" x 14 3/4" as framed.
