Marked 5- (A-) by M.F. in the lower left. Minas Avetisyan, 1928-1975, was a Soviet Armenian artist. From 1952 to 1954 Avetisyan studied at the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture named after I.E. Repin, where one of his main teachers was Boris Ioganson, 1893-1973, who was one of the high-ranking Soviet Realist painters.
