This gift marks a very significant point in Elvis Presley's iconic career, as it was given to the Colonel in June of 1958 right after Elvis was sent to serve in the United States Army in March. The Aberbachs were the founders of Hill and Range music publishing house, and assisted Colonel Parker in becoming Elvis' manager upon meeting the up and coming star in 1955. The brothers were instrumental in Elvis' transition from SUN Records to RCA Records, orchestrating a buyout of his contract that secured payments not only from RCA Victor but also from Hill and Range as they guaranteed Elvis half of the publishers' share of income from any Hill and Range songs he recorded. Elvis' songs sold millions of copies, and his relationship with the Aberbachs allowed them to have their pick from songs written by the best writers of the era such as Otis Blackwell, Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. The Aberbachs secured the publishing rights for many of Elvis' biggest hits such as Hound Dog, Don't Be Cruel, All Shook Up, Love Me, and Suspicious Minds. This piece was acquired from the Lost Jewelry Collection of Elvis Presley and Col. Tom Parker, which was thought to have been lost for decades. The bracelet was found wrapped in an envelope from Colonel Parker's estate, which is included with the piece.
