Description
Pair of Chelsea House Porcelain Censers, 20th c.., the pierced gilt decorated lidded urn with an acorn finial, over magenta sides, decorated with a reserve of sealife, supported by three fish. on an integral tripodal base, the pierced lid with an acorn finial. Marked along the underside "Chelsea House", H.- 9 1/4 in., Dia.- 7 in. Provenance: The Estate of Kathleen & Allen Little; Proprietors of Chateau Bleu, Slidell, Louisiana.
Condition
These are handsome examples. Both gilts are the same shade, but one censer has wear to the gilt and areas of loss, including the tips of the dolphin fins. Neither finial is damaged, but one has some slight wear to the gilt on the tip.
