RUSSIAN ICON PLAQUE
Russian, 19th century, painted and gilded wood. The "Joy of All Who Sorrow" scene, centered on full figure of the Madonna and Child below Christ in clouds, surrounded by a congregation of angels, saints, and men; Cyrillic text throughout and to central cartouche below the image.
