A FINE LONDON TALL CASE CLOCK SIGNED ELLIOTT
English, late 19th c. The hood with scrolling pediment and three spherical brass finials, the door opening to the gilt and silvered dial signed "Elliott - London", with second hand subsidiary dial and moon phase above, the triple-train movement in an elaborately inlaid trunk with quarter-column pilasters flanking the glazed door that reveals additional floral marquetry to the back panel, the base centering a patera medallion, all on bracket feet.
The case bears a plaque that reads, "Compliments of Saml. Cupples W.W. Co. - Feb. 15th 1898". A. A. Wallace was partners with Samuel Cupples. H. G. and Robert S. Brookings worked for the Samuel Cupples Woodenware Company.
