Central Asia, ca. 2nd millennium BCE. A delightful pottery jar presenting a piriform silhouette and black-painted decoration of linear, lattice, and crisscross motifs. The bulbous-bodied vessel is supported by a target-motif base, as a cylindrical spout rises from the sloped shoulder, culminating in a folded rim, while a ribbon-form handle arches outward from the base of the neck, connecting it to the shoulder. Size: 4.5" Diameter x 6.1" H (11.4 cm x 15.5 cm)

Professional restoration to neck and rim. Chips to rim and base. Expected surface wear with some nicks and abrasions. Otherwise, very nice with impressive remaining pigments.
