South Asia, India, Gupta Empire, ca. 320 to 550 CE. A mold-made pottery head bearing a graceful countenance of straight brows, heavy-lidded eyes, a broad nose, and fleshy lips held in a gentle smile. A pair of elongated ears flank the figure's full cheeks and tapered chin, each emerging just below a helmet-like coiffure or headdress. Size: 5.1" W x 4.5" H (13 cm x 11.4 cm); 7.5" H (19 cm) on included custom stand.
