A FINE GUYUE XUAN ENAMELED SNUFF BOTTLE
Chinese early to mid-20th century, enamel on glass. Fanned panels of differing florals under lingzhi patterns and bosses to neck, yellow ground, elevated on fine oval foot rim with underside bearing the sharp, three-character Guyue Xuan (Ancient Moon Pavilion) mark; blue stopper.
A documented example of an earlier, Imperial Palace Workshops Beijing, yet similar bottle can be found illustrated with a Qianlong mark (pgs. 315-317) figure 186 in "The Art of the Snuff Bottle / The J&J Collection" Volume 1 by Hugh Moss, Victor Graham, Ka Bo Tsang; published by Weatherhill Inc. New York/Tokyo Copyright Hugh Moss, 1993.
