Description:
Silkscreen poster. 57.5x44.6 cm (23¾x17").
Protest poster for a 1969 event in response to the Berkeley Police Department's spraying of tear gas by helicopter against anti-war protesters at UC Berkeley's Sproul Plaza. The event took place at Provo Park, Berkeley's answer to San Francisco's Panhandle scene, named in honor of the Dutch anarchist art group Provo. A scarce poster commemorating the stand the people of Berkeley took against the "whirlypigs". Sadly, the artist took no credit for this work. From the collection of Anita Medal.
Condition
Crease to lower left corner, a few bends and minor stains; very good or better.
