T.L.S. to the Member of Parliament from Milan, STEFANO CAVAZZONI (1881-1951), 2pp. 4to., Rome, Oct. 28, 1927, sending his approval for a number of proposals, including a plan for handling the abuse of opium. In part: '...I have likewise followed with keen interest your intelligent activity at the Opium Conference in Geneva and I am pleased to confirm my full approval here. By presenting the project for the control of opium production and trade as your personal initiative... I agree with you on the acceptability in principle of the proposed creation of a 'Central Board', when this is incorporated into the organization of the League of Nations and therefore subject, through the Assembly and the Council, also to our control....I beg you to be inspired...in continuing your highly appreciated work in this fight against the use of narcotics which is well placed in the program of action of the Fascist government.' Paper clip stain, one chip at left, else very good.
