A red piece of cloth, 3.5 x 3.25 in., in the shape of an inverted triangle, marked with a black ‘B’. Concentration camps used badges to identify prisoners quickly through the shape of the badge and the colors. The red of this badge indicates it was for a political prisoner, while the ‘B’ designates the owner as a Belgian citizen. Attached to the reverse is a small strip of the original backing. To prove the authenticity of this piece, it has been burn tested and was shown to bear no other material than organic cloth and has also proven to be UV negative. There is a 1 in. tear in the center, else very good.
