SIZE: 6,5 inch (165 mm) x 5,6 inch (145 mm) x 1,1 inch (27 mm)
WEIGHT: 1,92 lbs (872 g)
CONDITION: Very good condition
ORIGIN: Chinle Formation, N. Arizona, USA
This is a magnificent huge and colourful petrified wood full cross section from the Arizona Chinle Formation, USA. It dates from the Triassic period, 220 million years old and is a cross section of an Araucaria (an ancient conifer). This specimen is a complete cross section, the whole circumference showing the complete original tree bark. The pastel red, orange, purple and grey combine with the ancient wood grain to make a stunning display piece! The section is very nicely agatised and has a magnificent mirror polish on the front and a smooth matt finish on the back to bring all of that amazing colour to life as only the best grades of petrified wood can. The back has been left with a smooth matt finish, with the polished front face, giving you the best of both Worlds.
