WW1 Poster, French, Auguste Leroux (1871-1954). Framed WW1 French Patriotic Poster with artwork by Jules Marie Auguste Leroux, a prominent illustrator, painter, and longtime faculty member at the Ecole national superieure des Beaux Arts in Paris. He was commissioned in 1918 by the "Comptoir National D'Escompte de Paris" (National Discount Office of Paris) to design a poster to promote the sale of War Bonds. The bottom of the poster, translated, notes "To hasten victory and to see us soon, Subscribe!" Lithograph on paper, signed and numbered on the lower right of the print "Auguste Leroux, 13-339" Printed by Joseph Charles. Wood frame under plexiglass measures: 50" H X 34.6" W.
