Lot of 100+. Two different Cherokee County towns are represented: Tahlequah (the county seat and capital of the Cherokee Nation) and Hulbert. The Cherokee were forced to move here by the Indian Removal Act of 1830; white settlers started coming in during the 1870s. Most of the billheads, letterheads, and receipts are Tahlequah; only 8 are from Hulbert. Includes an early barber shop billhead (1903), lumber companies, newspapers, grocery, undertakers, and more.
