SIZE: Sculpture, 28" (top to bottom), Case: 31 1/2" x 23 1/4"
DESCRIPTION: Up for auction is a rare original sculpture by renowned artist Maya Lin that was produced in 2006 as part of Lin's Confluence Project based along the Columbia River. The sculpture uses recycled silver to evoke the smooth and reflective quality of water. Only 30 copies of this sculpture were produced. This is copy number 11. The piece is initialed and numbered at the bottom of the sculpture verso, see photos. The sale includes the sculpture's original dark blue, cloth-covered case. Lin is best known for the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington D. C.
PROVENANCE: This piece was purchased from the Henry Gallery Association in 2006 as part of the University of Washington's Henry Art Gallery's support of Lin's Confluence Project. The sale of this item will include a copy of the original gallery receipt, which includes the sculpture's edition number.
