DESCRIPTION: Up for auction is a four-piece glass sculpture by American glass artist William Morris. The piece includes two femur-like bones, one horn-shaped glass piece that holds the smaller bone, and one ribbed spiral element that encompasses the entire piece. The piece is titled Artifact and dates from 1991. Morris's work can be found at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Musee Des Arts Decoratifs, Paris, France, and the Corning Museum of Glass, in Corning, New York.
PROVENANCE: This piece was purchased from the Foster/White Gallery in 1992. The piece includes the artist's studio number: A591.034.4 and the date 1991. The sale of this item will include a copy of the original gallery receipt.
