A NORWEGIAN ROCOCO SILVER TWO-HANDLED SWEETMEAT DISH
Jens Peter Larsen Dorenfeldt of Trondhjems, circa 1765
Oval, embossed and chased with rococo ornament on partly matted grounds, the rim with shellwork and stemmed flowers, on four leaf-chased scroll feet, matching handles cast with flowers and leaves, marked on base IPD above 1762 in shaped shield, and lightly scratched No 1 21, length over handles 23.8 cm, together with a Danish silver plate, by Mitchelson of Copenhagen, 1935, with moulded and reeded shaped edge, two embossed dishes and a bowl, weight 33oz. (5)
