Oil painting of canoe on water. Rich in color Ordaz's interpretation translates his perspective clearly in this bold and expressive piece. Beautifully framed in a hand molded and custom painted frame. Measures 21" x 20" including frame, 13" x 12" image only. Signed lower left.
Luis Ordaz studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Caracas. In 1937, together with Rafael Monasterios, he founded the School of Plastic Arts of Barquisimeto, where he worked as a teacher for 4 years. He has been considered a painter of the Lawrence School, although his work has always resisted any classification.
