Description
Originally listed at $400
Southeast Asia, Thailand, Sawankhalok (Sawankalok) culture, Sukhothai Period, ca. 15th century CE. A lovely, brown-glazed stoneware bottle with a ring foot, a piriform body, and petite strap handles. The neck flares outward slightly to a thick rim that leads into the deep interior. The body is glazed with a caramel brown while simple black bands encircle the neck - the glaze ends on the lower midsection, above the foot leaving this area exposed to show the raw pink hue of the ceramic surface. This lovely jar exudes a minimalistic elegance! Size: 2.8" Diameter x 5" H (7.1 cm x 12.7 cm)
