A hand-carved walking spinning wheel (also known as a great wheel) of an enormous form with a slanted base supported by three legs, a vertical wheel axle, a huge drive wheel, and an accelerated head (also known as a "Minor's head") next to a whorl and between a pair of vertical maiden rods. Models like this were intended to be used standing up or sitting down and did not operate via a treadle. Size: 70" L x 61" H (177.8 cm x 154.9 cm).

Condition
Repair to rim of drive wheel with small staples. Single front leg loose. Light abrasions to main body, Minor's head, and drive wheel. Light earthen deposits and nice patina throughout.
