Description
Framed memorial that lists the members of the 18th Connecticut, company “A.” These “soldier’s records” were popular commemorative pieces purchased by Civil War veterans to display in their home. This example is rare and desirable in that it includes four, original oval albumen photographs of company “A” officers.
The 18th Connecticut Infantry was a hard-fought unit principally engaged in the Eastern Theatre of the war. The regiment served with distinction at the Battle of Second Winchester in 1863.
