Four hand-colored prints [after] by artist J.J. Juillet, Ca. 18th-century. The prints depict illustrations of butterflies and were initially created after works by artist J.J. Ernst. “Le Grand Mars Orange”, “Le Grand Collier Argenté”, “Le Grand Mars Changeant”, “L'Ecaille noire et Rouge” printed in plate. “L'Ecaille noire et Rouge” has an additional title “Jesus du male” in upper center. “J.J. Ernst Pinxit” is printed on the lower left of all of the prints. “J.J. Juillet Sculp” is printed on the lower right of all of the prints. Following “J.J. Juillet Sculp” written in the lower right corner are its identifying letters and number. The identifying numbers are “P.V. 1”, “P.V. 2”, “P.V. 3”, “P.V. 6”. The measurements are all the same. Frame Size: 12 1/8” height x 16 7/8” width x 5/8 depth, Sight Size: 10 5/8” height x 15 3/8” width, Plate Size: 7 â…›” height 8 â…” width, Image Size: 6.25” height x 7 7/8” width. All of the prints are framed. “P.V. 6” does not have a glass cover.
