Dogon Wooden Mask - 19th Century Aboriginal Indigenous Art- - Once ritualware for the Dogon people of Mali, Africa. The Dogon are known for their elaborate funeral rituals with extensive use of masks. This example is wood carved and depicts a face with an abutting forehead, small mout with protruding lips, a triangular nose, and a pair of eyes cut so the wearer can see. Item comes from the collection of Timothy Koock. Measures 12” H x 6.5” W. Ships from Austin, Tx.
